The Column of the Immaculate Conception
This column is located in front of the entrance to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The column was originally built in 1614, in the Basilica of Maxentius in the Roman Forum. A French sculptor worked on its creation.
The statue is made of bronze. The Santa Maria with a baby in her arms crowns it. This is the only one of the 7 columns that adorned the Basilica in ancient times, which is perfectly preserved to this day.

The fountain rises above the ground at a height of 2 meters due to the presence of 4 granite steps. Stone eagles, which depicted on the coat of arms of the Borghese family, are located on the sides of the cups of the fountain. Streams of water flow from them.
