The palace was designed by architect Giovanni Antonio Rossi in the middle of the 17th century for the Marquises of Giuseppe and Benedetto D'Aste. Later, the palace changed several owners. In 1818, it was acquired by Letizia Ramolino, mother of Napoleon Bonaparte
The building was built in 1657-1677, A four-story building stands on the corner of Piazza Venezia and Via del Corso.
